Why they hate us...

Several books have been written on both sides of the aisle (the right and wrong sides), that explore the reasons for the world's hatred of the United States. One I've never seen explored, but I think is a large contributor is the way that Hollywood liberals portray the American government, American military, and just the average American.

Conservatives are painted as Hitlers by Hollywood. American generals are almost never portrayed in a good light, and often as local, inhuman dictators. US soldiers serving abroad are portrayed in the precise image of our enemies: no respect for human life, completely self-serving and corrupt, and off-the-charts homicidal. Honest Americans apparently don't deserve attention in the movies. The only pure Americans in Hollywood's eyes are those eager to express their belief that all world views are equal, in fact, more equal than America's. Honest Americans are portrayed as those willing to subject US troops to the World Court, an evolving lynch mob that is obsessed with publicly hanging an American soldier (who was involved in a friendly-fire incident while deployed for the sole purpose of defending people of a different race and culture from jihadis)...just once, so the world can laugh at the spectacle!!! The honest American wishes to subvert the US constitution by making it subservient to "international law". They figure that since the world is bigger than the United States, that it's laws should, therefore, be more binding. By that logic, the Public School should have greater say in children's lives than the parents...Ha! Oh, wait, they want that.

The "Honest American" is portrayed as he who sees the inferiority of western culture, logic and economy. He acknowledges that America couldn't have achieved any level of greatness without Pocahontas and Sacajawea (both double minorities). The "honest American" insists upon spending half of ever day talking about American slavery, plantations, sweat shops, inequality, segregation and Vietnam. The "honest American" never has time to celebrate America's greatness. He blames the predominantly Christian founding of America for all America's alleged crimes while denying that America was ever a Christian nation.

Perhaps the reason they hate us is because they've been instructed to hate us by the thousands of US movies and programs they consume each year. Perhaps the fact that the character sketches they've been presented by Hollywood predispose them to hate us. Perhaps the preaching of "honest Americans" has led them to believe that being a benevolent power extricates us from the right to opinions, cultures, values, and struggles all our own.

So, non-American earthlings, please hear the lesson whispered by American mothers into the ear of millions of American children after a scary Hollywood movie: "It's alright; It's not real. It's just a movie".
